Avocado Bread Sandwich Recipe

Avocado Bread Sandwich - This is a quick and healthy sandwich idea....this is really not a recipe to share just an idea of using guacamole spread for sandwiches. This is very creamy sure a great alternate for the cheesy spreads. The ingredients are purely your choice, just add in your fav veggies too.

Avocado Bread Sandwich Recipe

Preparation Time : 5 mins | Processing Time : 10 mins | Serves : 2
Recipe Category: Dip | Recipe Cuisine: World

Bread Slices - 4
Avocado - 1
Onion - 2 tbsp finely chopped
Tomato - 2 tbsp finely chopped
Pepper powder / Chat Masala Powder - 1/8 tsp
Lemon juice - from quarter lemon
Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste

Method:

  1. Choose ripe avocado which will be black outside...if you press with your fingers it will slightly be soft.Cut open avocado remove the seeds.Scoop out the avocado pulp with a spoon, mash it well without nay lumps to make it smooth...Transfer it to a bowl.Get all your ingredients ready.
    Guacamole Sandwich - Step1
  2. Add the ingredients to the avocado pulp mix well. Then add pepper powder and lemon juice.Mix well.
    Guacamole Sandwich - Step2
  3. Spread a tbsp of the avocado spread(guacamole) on one side of the bread, close seal it with another side.Press slightly.Heat a dosa tawa and toast the sandwiches with ghee or butter.
    Guacamole Sandwich - Step3
Serve hot or warm!
Guacamole Sandwich

My Notes:

  • You can add other veggies of your choice like carrots, cabbage etc.
  • As the spread is very creamy it sticks to the bread making it neatly sealed.
  • You can even make it as a close sandwich using sandwich maker.

St Albans woman's charity recipe book in aid of Philippines relief

A marketing manager with a deep-rooted love for Asia put aside her daily duties to create a charity cookbook for the storm-stricken Philippines in just under a week.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

Emma Halldearn, of St Albans, initially decided to make the recipe book to showcase her friends' recipes but soon after Typhoon Haiyan it snowballed into an ambitious aid project.

Called Bake for Boracay, the book features over 20 recipes from her friends and family and even the Herts Advertiser's resident food writer Becky Alexander, with everyone involved giving up their services for free to create it.

The 36 year old recently travelled to Asia and came back in July and fell in love with the continent: "Whenever everybody asked what the best place was, it was always the Philippines.

"A lot of the places you can go to in Asia seem really sad – you can feel a sadness there. Whereas in the Philippines they love music, they love to party, and they just love English people. They just seem really happy, so it's such a shame that they of all people have to go through what you see on your TV.

"Boracay and the Aklan province, where I spent most of my time, has been terribly affected by Typhoon Haiyan. I heard a story from a friend whose house has been destroyed; locals are trying to rebuild their lives.

"Tacloban is the worst hit, and as I sit in my warm house drinking a nice glass of red wine I can't bear what these people are going through."

For a minimum of £5 the book can be purchased through Emma's Justgiving page with all donations going to the Red Cross. For more information visit: http://www.justgiving.com/bakeforboracay
