Show NavigationHide NavigationMy sister-in-law makes this amazing chili and now I want to share it with you!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. oil
1 onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lb. ground turkey
1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. cumin
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 bell pepper or 1 jalapeno, diced
6 oz. tomato paste
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 (14.5 oz. each) cans Italian style diced tomatoes
15 oz. can white beans
15 oz. can black beans
15.25 oz. can kidney beans
14.5 oz. can mixed vegetables
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. paprika
cayenne pepper
1/4 cup maple syrup
2.6 fl. oz. dark beer
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
salt & pepper
Instructions:
- In a pot over medium high heat combine 1 tablespoon oil, 1 diced onion and 4 minced garlic cloves. Sautee for 3 minutes.

- Add ground turkey and sweet Italian sausage. With a wooden spoon break it down as it cooks into small pieces.

- Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper and 1 teaspoon cumin. Mix and add chopped celery and diced bell pepper or jalapeno. Cook for another 5 minutes.

- Stir in tomato paste and brown sugar, cook for 3-4 minutes.

- Add Italian style diced tomatoes, white beans, black beans, kidney beans, mixed vegetables, cinnamon and paprika. Stir to mix. Add cayenne pepper to your taste (You know cuz not everyone can handle spicy :)).

- Add maple syrup and dark beer. Bring to boil. Cover and turn down to low. Simmer for 45-50 minutes.


- Add 1/4 cup chopped cilantro before serving.
